Salt Therapy Treatment

Salt Therapy has been known to help reduce symptoms of the following conditions as well as many others conditions.

Eczema

Eczema is a term for a group of medical conditions that cause the skin to become inflamed or irritated.

Eczema often starts at a very young age but can develop at any stage in life. Eczema is different for everyone and the symptoms can present differently as well. Some of the more common symptoms are itchiness, very dry skin, swollen or sore patches of skin and often redness. Over time it can become crusty and scaly and on occasion blisters may develop and crack, weep or peel causing infection. Scratching can also make the area thick and leathery over time.

Eczema often appears as a rash on the inside of elbows, behind the ears, hands and feet, back of knees, buttocks or even on the face.

Asthma

Asthma is a chronic condition in your lungs.

Asthma causes inflammation and constriction of the muscles surrounding the airways which results in a narrowing of the airways (*see diagram) The symptoms of narrowing airways can be tightness in the chest, shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing.

Medical treatment for Asthma generally involves inhalers. Inhalers contain drugs which are designed to relax the muscles surrounding the airways. The drugs in the inhalers only target the symptoms or asthma and provide temporary relief and can have side effects.

COPD

COPD stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

COPD is used to describe a number of lung conditions that cause shortness of breath, will gradually worsen and that are long term.

The most common are chronic asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

The main symptoms of COPD are shortness of breath, increased coughing and mucus generation.

Hay Fever

HayFever is an allergy caused by pollen or dust causing the mucous membranes of the eyes and nose to become inflamed which in turn causes a runny nose and watery eyes. It is also know as allergic rhinitis and is a common condition with similar symptoms to a cold.

Symptoms of Hay Fever can include a blocked or runny nose, watery and/or itchy eyes, sneezing, itchy throat, loss of smell and tiredness.

Allergies

Histamine is an important weapon in the body for fighting infection. But, when it is released into the body in too high a quantity, histamine is a potentially debilitating substance.

When too much is released there can be a myriad of symptoms depending on the allergen. The most common is itchiness or sneezing, watery red eyes or a full feeling in the head. Other symptoms can also include hives, wheezing, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. The severity differs from person to person as do the treatments. They can be as simple as taking anti-histamine to being admitted to hospital.

As salt is a natural anti-histamine we would love to chat to you about your condition and work out a plan that suits to help with your condition.
